The Undergraduate Program in Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Diponegoro held its 2026 New Student Admission (PMB) series, aimed at welcoming and shaping the character of new students from the very beginning of their academic journey. This series was attended by 224 new students from the 2026 cohort.
The PMB series was designed in stages, beginning with sessions to introduce the campus environment and student organizations through PMB Roadshow, Pre-PMB, and First Gathering — aimed at building early familiarity among new students while introducing the structure of student organizations.
Formal Orientation through PKKMB
Moving into the formal orientation stage, new students participated in the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB). This activity covered an introduction to the Department of Electrical Engineering and its Alumni Association (IATE), an overview of the curriculum, material on national life and citizenship, as well as Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment (K3L) material complete with hands-on simulation.
As part of this series, new students were also introduced to MARKA Expo, a session introducing student bureaus and organizations through exhibition booths, allowing new students to become more familiar with the organizational ecosystem within the Department of Electrical Engineering.
Character Education: Instilling Values and Positive Habits
The 2026 PMB series concluded with a three-day Character Education (Pendikar) program, the core initiative for shaping the character of new students. This program was designed to equip students with a number of fundamental values and skills, including:
- Reactive and proactive responses to various situations
- Self-management and time management
- The ability to remain calm under pressure
- Independence, responsibility, and honesty
- Understanding of oneself and one’s surroundings
- A closer introduction to the field of Electrical Engineering
Through a series of materials, group discussions, and various supporting activities over the three days, new students are expected to gain not only academic understanding but also a strong character foundation to carry them through their studies.
The 2026 PMB series at Undip Electrical Engineering is expected to mark a strong beginning for new students to adapt to the academic environment while building the character that will serve as their foundation throughout their studies at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Universitas Diponegoro.
