VISITING PROFESSOR 2025: DTE UNDIP STRENGTHENS DIGITAL GOVERNANCE AND SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION BY INVITING PROFESSORS FROM MULTIMEDIA UNIVERSITY, MALAYSIA

The Department of Electrical Engineering, Diponegoro University (DTE Undip) held a Visiting Professor program with Prof. Ts. Dr. Gerald Goh Guan Gan MBIT, MA, FMIM, FOMI from Multimedia University, Malaysia, on May 20 to 22, 2025. This activity is part of DTE’s strategic efforts in strengthening an internationally connected education and research ecosystem, especially in the fields of digital transformation, information system governance, and sustainable innovation that has a direct impact on national and global development.

Prof. Ts. Dr. Gerald Goh Guan Gan MBIT, MA, FMIM, FOMI, a leading academic with expertise in knowledge management, information systems, digital communication, and technology-based institutional management, is expected to make a real contribution to academic and research development in Undip Electrical Engineering. During the three-day event, various scientific sessions were held with high enthusiasm from participants consisting of lecturers, researchers, and students.

Public Lecture May 21, 2025

The activity was opened with a public lecture entitled “Digital Knowledge Management and Sustainable Innovation” which was delivered on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in Room B203 and attended by 70 participants. Furthermore, on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, he presented material entitled “Information Systems for Institutional Sustainability” in the Conference Room which was attended by 35 participants. The program was closed on Thursday, May 22, 2025, by organizing an Academic Writing Clinic in the Seminar Room. This activity was attended by 11 students from the Bachelor and Master of Electrical Engineering programs who received direct guidance in writing scientific articles for journals and international conferences.

Through the presence of Prof. Ts. Dr. Gerald Goh Guan Gan MBIT, MA, FMIM, FOMI, the Department of Electrical Engineering Undip hopes to encourage international research collaboration, update the curriculum in accordance with global dynamics, and improve the quality and quantity of scientific publications as part of achieving sustainable academic quality.
