JENTAYU RACING PLANE TEAM OF DIPONEGORO UNIVERSITY WON 2ND PLACE AT THE REGIONAL LEVEL I INDONESIAN FLYING ROBOT CONTEST 2023 ORGANIZED BY BPTI – PUSPRESNAS MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, CULTURE, RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA

 

The Jentayu Racing Plane team from Diponegoro University won 2nd place at the Regional I level in the 2023 Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI) Racing Plane division. The event was held online on August 13-15, 2023 by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI – Puspresnas) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. In KRTI 2023, four divisions were contested: Racing Plane (RP), Fixed Wing (FW), Vertical Take-Off Landing (VTOL), and Technology Development (TD). In KRTI 2023, the Racing Plane (RP) division was followed by 50 teams from 50 universities throughout Indonesia.


Diponegoro University’s Jentayu Racing Plane team won 2nd place at the Regional 1 level in the Racing Plane (RP) division. This team is a cross-disciplinary team chaired by Bobby Ezra Maulana Sadikin (Mechanical Engineering), with members Ananda Hikmawan, Kelvin Gibran Arya Dwiangga, Abid Nanta Legowo (Electrical Engineering), Calvin Mahendra, Naufal Danadyaksa Kurniawan, and directly mentored by Br. Dr. Eng. Munadi, ST, MT from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Ir. Hadha Afrisal, S.T., M.Sc., IPP from the Department of Electrical Engineering.
Undip’s Jentayu Racing Plane team was able to compete with the best teams from representatives of universities in Indonesia and successfully performed their best in a very competitive race at the regional level. This definitely shows the technological excellence and innovation of Diponegoro University’s flying robot team. Jentayu Racing Plane recorded a flight time of twenty seconds, covered a distance of 500 meters, and carried a load of 820 grams. This earned Jentayu Racing Plane second place after outperforming eighteen other teams from various universities in western Indonesia.
Bobby Ezra Maulana Sadikin, team leader of Jentayu Racing Plane, said he and his colleagues were overjoyed at this achievement. They are proud to have formed a strong and united team like a family, which eventually led them to become champions thanks to their great team spirit and work. Although Jentayu Racing Plane was only established in 2020, they hope to make more achievements at the national level in the future. They hope to fly the flag of Diponegoro University at the 2023 national level Indonesian Flying Robot Contest (KRTI) in Lampung.
Apart from the Jentayu Racing Plane team, Undip’s flying robot teams in other KRTI division branches were also able to show excellent performance. Jentayu Copter (Vertical Take-Off Landing (VTOL) division) led by Electrical Engineering student, Naufal Yafi Susanto, and the Jentayu TD Team (Technology Development division with the theme Airframe Innovation (TDA)). With high enthusiasm and motivation, the Jentayu Racing Plane team and the entire Undip flying robot team will continue to develop their abilities and participation in various other flying robot competitions, with the hope of being able to improve their achievements at the regional, national and international levels in the coming years.
